Bane of the storm cannot be progressed

Got blocked from progress in the bane of the storm quest because I got disconneted during the quest and now the hunt does not reset. It tells me to find the next trace, but there is none. Also the NPC knight is missing and the boss area at the end of the caverns cannot be accessed. If I go from farmstead I can click the first trace the hunt icon appears but there is no trace and at the end the boss cannot be accessed.

Yup, same issue. I've restarted multiple times with no avail.

FYI, my buddy and I solved this issue. We're making a post about it now.

Find a friend or somebody else to run the quest with and they can carry you through it. They have to be at the same point in the quest or earlier in their progression.
