After finishing killing Nikolas, The Spear of Balance, you will go into the next zone and get a waypoint. The NPCs are shown twice. They are shown doing their normal dialog and then there is a copy of them that are T-posed.

I play Bloodtrail online mode, and I'm stuck on this quest as well. I reached the Eastern Tower with Heimlock and decided to take a break. After log back in, I had to go through Cell-H Ramparts to get to Eastern Tower, but Heimlock was not there, so I could not continue quest. Then I tried to go back to Cell-H to see, if he was there, but no luck. I also tried to re-log, but it didn't help.
Anyone got some ideas?

Same here. I also took a break before going on and talking to Heimlock. When I logged back in Heimlock wasn't there AND the checkpoint wasn't "checked".
Frustrating. I was enjoying playing again :(
