I Played the pre 1.0 game and had finished all the beginning content. I recently updated the game and to my horror my saved games and characters seem to have been wiped out. Any ideas?

The only thing that I can think of making sure that if you played online, it is showing you as online when you first login, or offline if you played offline. I do know that there was a bug that was rolling back characters a while back, but I thought they fixed it and haven't seen any reports lately.

There was a wipe of the characters at the official release. You only played alpha or beta as far as I've understand so they were wiped like in every other game at the release :)
