performance improvement - fps cap - Forum

Hello Devs,

please implement the option to cap the game at 60 fps!

As an owner of a powerful enough pc to run the game at both 144 and 300+ fps I don't want to recreate the Chernobyl disaster in my bedroom whenever I play the game.
I am sure we will get plenty of graphics options to play around and better optimization with the game releasing soon but please don't forget about small (and yet still) important things like this. It really grinds my gears that nowadays any and every(!) modern game doesn't have proper graphic settings to finetune stuff like this.

To summaries:

Is my PC powerful enough for this game? ---> CHECK!
Do I want to get arrested for burning down my town for playing this game? ---> NO!

I really like the game so far and a fps cap selection would be highly appreciated.

does your gpu get hot? i have rtx 2080 never above 44 degrees with 3 games active a bunch of browsers and launchers

I have a RTX2080ti and hot is quite an understatement. xD
But Wolcen is the ONLY game out of my collection of over 800+ games I own which causes that.

So I can only assume that the game stuffs the gpu which has 11gigs of VRAM completely full and goes bonkers.
I know that some games tend to load the gpu to 100% but this is the single incident (and only this game behaving like that on my setup)
and I dont need an Apollo rocket taking off in my bedroom. :P

EDIT: I like to add that I already tried the usual stuff like updating/resetting drivers and etc. so I believe the problem is not completely on my end......atleast I hope so :(

thanks for the reply.

Thank you guys for planning on adding the option. Even if it takes time, its still nice to know that we will be able to adjust the settings
to our hearts content. :D

Hi,

In the mean time you can enable VSync in the video settings, this will cap your framerate at 60 FPS.

sadly that doesn't work if you have a 144hz Monitor like me :)

Can confirm I have the same issue.
Only this game and FFXIV for some reason get my 2080TI to just sit at 84 degrees for some reason.
Games both run buttery smoothe at 144fps but it runs extremely hot.

Everything else I play runs 144+ and temps stay fine 68-77 degrees.
I will try to play with capping FPS and see if that takes care of it although it would be nice if that was not needed as 144 would be ideal, but also don't want constant loud fans or temps that high for long sessions .
