please someone explain to me how this isnt an optimization issue

I've had NOTHING but people telling me my rig is the reason why i get 25fps and BELOW at LOWEST settings.

for reference of the photo above, my i5 4460 never went above 65% load, my geforce gtx 1070 core went to 100% instantly (55% load IN THE MENU BEFORE THE GAME IS EVEN BEING PLAYED) while the core temp never went above 60, frames dropping to 11fps in the starter area. 24 gigs of ram(doesnt go above 30-40% usage, turning all background applications changes nothing), HDD, SSD, nothing changes this. changing graphical settings to any combination doesn't change the bad performance. nothing fixes this. I've been told that people with lesser setups than mine? run it just fine. what am I missing since this must be my fault...

Don't worry :) it's not your fault and you are not the only one. I have a core i7 with gtx 1060 and in maximum 5 minutes after I start the game, my laptop shuts down due to high temps: CPU above 80 degrees and GPU above 85.
I have also tried to go with Low settings on video, no extra settings, Vsync on or off....nothing helps.
From all my 85 games in the steam account, this is the only one that managed to do this to my gaming laptop. So yes, I am 100% sure it's related to the game's optimization.

make no mistake here, my rig doesn't overheat, nor does it ever come close, as shown in the photo

I have the same problem: I7-6700, GTX1070
GPU graphic is 100% loaded
It is not possible to play ((

First time I'm glad to have Radeon card (RTX 590) I guess. Don't worry, they'll fix it but graphic card optimization is tricky stuff. Give them time.

Also experiencing the temperature issues. Interestingly enough my CPU falls under this list of those known to encounter issues with CryEngine https://trello.com/c/UUmUBaTR/1208-cryengine-unsupported-cpu Wondering if this applies to the rest of you having temperature / playability problems...

not experiencing temp issues for the second time..., cpu doesnt go over 55 and gpu doesnt go over 60, and for reference this cpu and gpu can play everything its always been able to play without issue, not my hardware going out
