Feedback v1

Hi,
Just providing some quick feedback on my experience thus far.

  1. After several hours of gameplay, I have not come across any weapon/main hand weapon for a caster besides a 2h staff. I can use a bow but that doesn't make any sense if I am going full caster. I have picked up catalysts but no main hand weapon. Would like to see some sceptors, wands, etc. The main reason is that when I am willpower starved, I can sit at ranged and 'auto attack'. I cannot do that with a mace because this requires me to be within melee range.
  2. The 10 point stat allocation that you receive for every level seems bland. I haven't done any analysis of it, but it seems that regardless where you place your points you get an equal amount of damage increase. If I put my points into toughness or wisdom I would receive the same damage increase. This doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I believe there was an older iteration where ferocity or something used to give flat damage, but everyone dumped their points into that. I understand that this change, if it was a change, is meant to fan out some point spending. More needs to be done.
  3. The whole enneract system and primordial affinity seems off. Why do I need to spend 1000 gold for an enneract, switch tabs at the same vendor, and sell it right back to him for 6550 PI. It would feel better if I picked up PI as I played the game instead of buying an enneract and selling it right back to the vendor.

For some reason I could not add onto my post and click Submit...

...added #4 and #5.

  1. There needs to be more 'save' spots and waypoints. Save spots in the sense that when you are fighting a boss, if you die 3x, you can spawn/zone in right outside of the entrance to the boss fight, but you need to start the fight from the beginning. Its stupid to have us run ALL the way through the map again. It adds unnecessary time and I wanted to walk away from the game a few times simply because of this fact.
  2. The Edric fight: While it is refreshing to have a boss fight in the ARPG genre that is as long and diverse, as well as difficult, it was a tad too long. Reduce his HP a bit. Otherwise, good fight.

  1. There needs to be many many more spells/abilities added to the game. For casters, it seems that you have three options as an every encounter/fight ability: Consuming Embers, Arctic Spear, Annihilation. Tears is on a cooldown until you can unlock CD reductions, as is winter's grasp. Three abilities is too little. Gameplay will get old VERY fast and this absolutely destroys build diversity. Granted, I have not gotten to any 'endgame' so I do not know if any additional spells become available but in the first Act, 5-10 hours and 18 levels later, this is as good as it gets. This alone will diminish my gameplay to the point where I won't come back to the game after Ive played all three. We need game replayability and skills/build diversity/choice/theorycrafting is where it is at. This is a big one.

Thank you for your feedback cesmode8 :)

We're thinking about introducing wands/1h caster but adding a new weapon is not insignificant and it will most likely not be available for the release, more spells are planned though, of course, to offer more choice in caster builds. Know that you can make some powerful combinations with a catalyst and a one-hand weapon without using it (at range or melee), there are points in the Gate of Fates allowing you to reduce the resource cost of your skills, you can also use rage skills to regain your willpower, and gems to improve your willpower regeneration, even have a willpower potion to replenish it. It takes some building up but there are some really cool caster builds based on the catalyst without even feeling hybrid (my personal favorite one being Annihilation/Mark of Impurity).

The balancing is still a work in progress, it will change again with the next Content Patch, and once more for the release since players will be able then to go up to level 60 at least and visit all the Acts.
