I would highly suggest not removing the piece of equipment that is currently equipped after removing a gem from it. It causes an added step to players to re-equip that item and assuming the player wants to unequip that item is not user friendly. Looking forward to upgrading feature of 2 or 3 gems of a quality to the next higher quality.
