when you hover the item it gives you its stats and the stats of what you have equipped except in the case of when you have two equipped aka gloves, swords,
rings. ECT it only compares one of the equipped items. if it could do both that would be awesome!

as you said if you hover over a glove or shoulderplate to compare selected item with equiped you can press shift or space bar if i recall correctly to compare with your other equiped item (you switch from left or right)
