Fatal Flaw of Duplicated Skills
Hello, just wanted to drop a quick topic for discussion regarding Duplicated Skills. That is, the end-game capability to use the same skill multiple times but with it's own Mod loadout.
In theory, these could have quite an impact, but they suffer a fatal flaw... The shared cooldown. Now, there may be a case for having shared cooldowns, and the only benefit intent for duplicated skills is the flexibility of mods on the fly, however, where this really falls short is when one copy would not have a cooldown, but a modded version does, using the "no cooldown" version does not trigger a cooldown for the version that does have one, but the one that DOES have a cooldown will put the version without a cooldown on the same full cooldown. This shatters any inkling of possibility.
Here's a few examples of where Duplicated skills could be useful if the cooldown did not trigger on version that did not have a cooldown:
- Flight of Ishmir. Using the mod that utilizes Stamina, but keeping another version for added mobility.
- (Hot Topic) Bleeding Edge. Bleeding Edge was turned into almost a golden opportunity for Duplicated skills, where you would use the cooldown version first, and resort to the shorter duration counterpart as a filler.
Please consider changing this so that versions of spells without a cooldown do not go on cooldown. It would vastly improve diversity in abilities.
