Death penalty

First off, I realize there is only a slim chance this will be considered for the release, but hey, it's within our rights to suggest!

My suggestion is to put on a good death penalty for Wolcen and specifically for higher levels. And by a good penalty, that works for the majority, is an Experience penalty AFTER a certain level. The reasoning for this is simple;

It would make playing and leveling more interesting, since there is a negative side to dying. The experience loss should be significant enough (but not unfair) so that the player would make an effort to make his/her build balanced and not just a glass cannon. I'm not sure if there are any penalties in Wolcen since the level cap is only 20 now. Granted, this would mean that the higher levels would take a lot more time to reach, which is another discussion all together. I prefer to grind for levels and it worked great in Diablo 2, Grim Dawn and in Path of Exile.

Now, the experience penalty itself could be made much more interesting, such as; make the enemy who killed you absorb some of that experience so when/if you kill it, you'll get it back. Not all of it, but somewhere like 60 % of it. The monster would simply glow or something similar to deem that it has absorbed experience. Another option, which is in place in Grim Dawn, is something redeemable (like a gravestone) so when you click it, you'll get a portion of the experience lost back.

The only negative side to this would be that a portion of the players will without a doubt claim that the time they spend killing monsters shouldn't be diminished, since they have little time to play the game. And that's a valid opinion. Hence, it should only occur on the higher difficulties, so that the people playing for fun for an hour a day won't get to that point or at least, they learn the game thoroughly before that point becomes an issue.

I've seen so many games fall to this "we're afraid to punish players AT ALL"-mentality and I think this would be a good middle-road; keep the casuals happy and make the leveling process more interesting and slightly more difficult. You have to think and you can't simply go in guns blazing. That's something that is only positive for the gaming community.

Oh and the second wind-system is decent, but it could be better. For instance, if the enemy is camping your point of death, there are instances where you will die before you can even press any buttons. So making so that you can move while "resurrecting" would be nice. I would go away with this system entirely and instead, spawn at the entrance to the zone but that would probably be too harsh for the majority of players.

That's my reasoning, feel free to debate, can't wait to see the release!
