Contribute to translation
If your language has never been translated for the game or if you want to start it over, make a copy of the english_xml.pak and rename it as yourlanguage_xml.pak.
If you are working on an updated translation for the game, make sure to gather all the new lines in the english_xml.pak file.

You can open the .pak file using WinRar or WinZip (it is, in fact, a simple .zip renamed) then open any XML files with Excel 2003+ Edition.

The first column is the "key" we are using from the game code.
The second column is the actual text in English.
The third column is the one used by the game, so it is the one you need to fill with the translation and the only one you should change.

When saving, only use the "current file configuration" to save the file, do not upgrade the file thanks to the newer Excel version.

If you are updating the files with the latest additions, we made a color code for the text.
Green is for the 'old' lines, orange is for the new lines.
Don't translate the red lines since they are not used in the game presently.

How to install a Community translation
If you wish to install a Community translation:

  1. Download the .pak file related to your language and put it in the Wolcen\localization folder.
  2. Create a .txt file in your Wolcen folder
  3. Inside that file, add the command: g_language = concernedlanguageinenglish (for French it would be g_language = French)
  4. Save the file and then rename it manually into "user.cfg"

Make sure that you activated "View files extensions" in the "View" menu of your file explorer, otherwise you won't be able to change the file extension and you will end up with a user.cfg.txt file and it won't work. You can find this option here:

Windows will ask for a confirmation when you change the extension, say Yes.
You can edit the file at any time using the Notepad ++ program once it's in .cfg.

Hello, I am a game that I bought in Chinese at the beginning. Why did I cancel Chinese later? Given the purchasing power of boutique games in China, I hope to add Chinese to regain the trust of Chinese people, of course, under the conditions that you think your game is a boutique. My English is very poor, but probably the meaning should be understandable.

The Chinese localization that was available during the Alpha of the game was made by community members. We're still considering new languages officially supported and Chinese is one of them, but for the moment I'm not able to tell you when it will be available.

Thank you very much for your reply. At present, all 3A games have Chinese, and even some Chinese dubbing, such as 2077 and Borderlands3, is enough to prove the purchasing power of China. I believe that after lom has Chinese, Chinese players will not disappoint you.
