Main stats and damage suggestion

The idea of putting damage trough your higher stat is very cool, but encourages a full dwelling into one single stat. While playing my characters I always invested all my points into a single one just because having damage is very important, considering that bosses and elite enemies are very, very tough to kill.

In truth, I would have preferred to split my stat allocation in two stats, or maybe three, especially on my melee characters. I think it would be nice if the secondary and tertiary stat would give more damage increase, not like the primary but more than it is right now. The idea of giving freedom in stat allocation is nice, but if it goes down to put everything in one single stat, it's not really "freedom", in my opinion. Having higher bonuses while splitting points would be more fun and would create more build diversity.

I believe it was built for people that want to go all one stat, the damage boost helps you out enough to clear enemies but you should play around with combing 2 attributes because that was my concern when I started as well. I want to say it's there just for balance. Adding Crit and Speed can outweigh All Crit depending on the weapon, or Ailment chance and speed can outweigh just ailment chance for example.
That was what I noticed while playing but I would like to hear what the developers have to say about it.
