Resetting stats/gates of fate kills replayability

In my honest opinion , do you actually need to create more than 1 character in this game? Since i can just reset my talents and my attributes i can just collect loot for all classes on one character and switch when i like to play differently.

But this , in my opinion kills a lot of replayability. you should be able to reset attributes but not gates of fate..i'd be very happy with both being non resettable..just create an alt..

On that note , the fact that you can find vendors which sell uniques/legendaries is also a big chunk of accomplishment feeling lost you get when they drop , they feel a bit less special...at best vendors should have medium quality legendaries , uniques should be DROP ONLY.

No, I love it.
For someone who has/had so many alts in WoW it's way too much of a grind. The only reason I have so many Diablo 3 characters is purely for mules due to low inventory room (and to show off builds in my armory if people click my profile).

Also, the gold isn't a huge deal to respec in Wolcen but the higher lvl you are the more gold, and mainly, primordial affinity cost goes up. I use all mine for missions etc...and maybe to push a few levels on lower lvl skills.

I don't think I'll have 9000+ alts in Wolcen but definitely at least 1 more for melee-focused build instead of my mage main.

If anything, respeccing should be easier. It gets boring playing the exact same way. It's easy enough to have it your way, and ours OP. You don't like variety and the ability to respec? Then don't respec and play the same way every day. I would quit in a heartbeat without a second thought if I had to play the exact same way every day.

I'd honestly like to see saved spec hot swapping like in D3. It was better being able to adapt to the group composition.

I was an altaholic in WoW as well. I much prefer having one character that can do anything, like in Final Fantasy 14. It keeps the game fresh and lets you try out new things. No one is forcing you to respec, but I am being forced to eat the cost to play how I want to.

Do away with respec costs completely. Especially right now when so many skills or abilities are broken. It's getting really old having to pay to respec because a skill doesn't work like the tool tip sounds, or flat out doesn't work because of a bug.

The same thing you said to him can be said to you. You want to play your way? You should also have to pay a lot. The cost is different between the two of you but it should be great because it literally kills immersion in games of any kind. You're not actually the character you made, you're a hub at that point which is a turn off to a bunch of players that game. In the same sense, it's understandable you want to try different things, but it should either stay the same or be higher cost imo. You should not be able to willy nilly respec any and every time you want to just because you want to. It should be a cost that's a huge amount because it makes the game far too easy. Can't do this kind of boss? That's ok, just respec to something that can and you can 1shot it easily, then swap back to your favorite setup. You're not forced to eat anything because that's your choice for wanting to play a different style every time. That is 100% on you, not on the game or anyone else, but you. So yeah, it should be a very high cost, if at all imo considering how fast you can get characters up to level.

It's not easy to have it both ways. Imagine in Dark Souls if before every boss encounter there was a button to skip the boss and proceed. That would kill the sense of achievement a lot of players would feel from defeating a boss should they decide to tackle the bosses.

It's a similar situation here. If it's too easy to respec a lot of us feel like theres no point in making new characters and just telling us not to respec fails to understand basic human psychology. I see making a new character as kind of a challenge, a puzzle if you will. I plan it out and try to bring that vision to fruition. I want to be able to succeed OR FAIL. If I can't fail then whats the point?

This is not to say you guys are wrong to prefer cheap or free respecs. We simply play for different reasons. I don't think there is a way to satisfy both camps. We all just have to make our voice heard then it's up to developers to choose what they think is best for their game.

Maybe i played Soulsborne (and Sekiro ) too much and wanted something a little more hardcore:P..but yeah i agree with your point.

Thoese are my main issues , especially the one with buying uniques and legendary from some vendors you sometimes find inside the random expeditions/mandates...it was like a kick in the nuts when i saw... i want all good gear to be drop only...a good compromise might be that you can only buy them to a maximum on lvl 40-50 item level to get you going...all the others from 50-90 should be drop only.. even if you make them extremely expensive , the way people are finding exploits to gain ridiculous amounts of gold (i've heard , i never tried and play normally) would be meaningless either way:)
