I had a build that sort of centered around flight of Gaavanir while I was leveling. It was a crit one-shot build, basically going max damage with the node that doubles skill damage when your rage is over 750. I ended up also using bleeding edge anyway, not for the ailment stacking, but because it has more damage passives than any other attack (I think I took the 30% dmg, 60% dmg, 25%crit dmg and follows you or something like that).
The passives for flight I specifically worked with was the one that does an explosion on your character when you recall it, and damage besides that. My idea was I'd jump on the boss and throw the hammer through him then return it quick, so that it would hit him once going out, once going back and one more time with the aoe explosion. In theory, this was the highest damage I could get in one skill.
Anyway, I switched to an ailment build because bleeding edge so I can't say for certain how it works now. It seems like flight is meant to be more of a pack killing skill but it was a lot of fun one-shotting people with it. I was thinking of making it do more damage by taking the fire conversion, but then I'd miss out on the material damage bonus node on the tree.
