Wolcen Build Planners

Hi!

I've been working, more or less as a hobby, on a wolcen character planner tool. At first, intended for personal use, but why not open it up for everyone?

Main issue here is that including all necessary data in the tool (stats, gate of fate nodes and effects, equipment, etc) is too much work to do manually.

I would be interested in knowing if you offer any kind of programmatic access to this information through some API or similar, as that would simplify everything enormously, as I could parse all the needed data on the go.

This is obviously a very barebones implementation, as I haven't introduced the data I mentioned, but this is what's going on so far...

Drawing the passive tree is implemented, rotating the rings is implemented, defining stats is implemented, and their relationships too, as in, they can depend on each other and get recalculated automatically...

Theorycrafting formulas are of course also welcome when available.

If there's interest from the community and/or support from the creators, I'm willing to actually develop this into a fully usable tool, so please let me know if that is the case.

I was hoping someone would be doing a skill wheel so that we can do some build planning without being in the game.
Pretty sure lots of people would appreciate it. Keep it up.

cant wait to see this finished. im for sure gonna use it as it for now and cant wait till we have something like poe has path of building sure. thank you for all your effort i hope the project gets some donations or something wish i could afford it but i cant.

I literally took a screen shot of the skill wheel and put circles on major nodes I wanted to see how they line up, using Windows Borderless mode to go back and forth in game and to Paint.

If you have any idea how big Path of Building is for Path of Exile, you know a till like what you are making is hyper utilized, so please do finish and let us play with it!

I was actually thinking about this today, as I didn't find a tool.
But I didn't know if there was a way to extract all the data and not have to hand key/build everything.

=/

I don't really want to build it from the ground up as you stated also.

AFAIK there's only one other public project that is looking promising, and it's a one man show atm:

Seems he's gotten pretty far with extracting and parsing the data from game resources, so I'd look there if I was getting in to making a planner.

Well, while waiting for official confirmation, best effort is actually parsing the passive tree by "eye", or computer eye, at least.

Not perfect, but saves a sizable amount of the job... (thanks OpenCV <3)

Bear in mind that even with automation, there are false detections, missed nodes; labels, effects and such still need to be added by hand, and with the third ring added, we have hundreds of nodes, plus the links between them, which are harder to pick up, so it might still take a good while.

Hmm, this is indeed promising, I will check it out to see if the passive tree info is stored in any sort of parseable mode.

Nice work! I'm also happy to contribute when you release it on github, I already did this for multiple WoW or poe projects.

Exactly what the community wants/needs. Open it to the community and lets see if we can get together and make a builder better than Path of Building.
