Biased Appreciation thread
Hi,
I just wanted to make a thread and say how much I appreciate the devs for what they've provided to us with Wolcen. Some backstory, I'm an Umbra kickstarter who was quite happy to see devs pitch an ARPG that challenges some of the archetypes we've seen so many times before. I have kept up with the changes, and am glad to see after playing Wolcen for some time now, we finally have Umbra.
I also recognize there has been a lot of frustration due to the launch, but due to my own circumstances, I haven't experienced any of those issues specific to multilplayer, or many of the other issues that came with the launch. I have had some bugs, but all resolvable.
I also recognize how I play is not how everyone else plays, and due to that some may not want to show the devs appreciation because they feel the devs are not addressing their issues, and thus do not deserve it. I feel this is the wrong approach though.
I'd like everyone to take a moment to just recognize that we have a new contender in the ARPG genre, and if they do well, it will be good for all fans of ARPGs. Competition is good, and in order for this game to do well, they need some time to address the issues players are experiencing and resolve them. It's unfortunate that they are a bit overwhelmed, but all I want players to do is remember, the devs and the team behind this game are all people too. As frustrated as you are, they are probably even moreso - but to demonize them so soon without knowing full their infrastructure, design goals, issue list, priority, # of team.. etc. It's unfair. You may continue to criticize them, but please do not think that you must hate something to criticize it.
Again, I just wanted to say big thanks to the devs and I hope you make progress in resolving the bugs & other issues so people can experience the full game, and then you can work on expanding on the idea presented by this version of the game and improve upon it.
To everyone else, thanks for reading! Good luck & have fun!
