Just a quick news to give you some information about our progress, and what our teams are currently working on. Some of you are already following our roadmap so you’ll be aware of most of these points, but we wanted to share them through this news as well to share our progress with everyone.
Localization of Wolcen
First of all, we would like to thank our community member Felipe Vianna for his work on the Portuguese Brazilian localization of the game. We’re happy to announce to you that we will implement the selection of this language next week.
Know that we’re also making progress thanks to our community members for Hungarian(handled by Lostprophet.hu), Polish(handled by d4ntes and Noriaa) and Spanish(handled by Ashok) languages. Although the possibility to select these languages will also be implemented next week, you won’t be able to access them since it won’t be over yet. But as soon as they are ready, we will push a small hotfix to make them available to you.
Remember that if you’d like to contribute to the localization of Wolcen for the release, you’re welcome to join our team.
We use Crowdin for that purpose, which allows a smoother and clearer progression on localization and updates, and we’re working closely with our community members to ensure that they have everything they need to make an awesome localization for Wolcen in any language.
OST for Kickstarter backers
We received the keys from Steam and we will send them soon. We will give you more information about this early next week, but we can already tell you that you will receive the pack with the OST and the banner, badge, portrait, and frame for our Official forums!
All the attack combos for the male and female characters have been improved. Our programmers are also reimplementing the character creation system, including male and female character, beard, hair, and eyes.
Armors and Weapons
At the release of the game, 11 tiers of armors and weapons will be available during the character progression. At least 15 new Uniques will be added as well, and more will be progressively implemented through free gameplay patches following the release of the game.
Our teams are also currently working on the integration of the Cosmetic inventory, including armor skin swap and a very refined tinting interface, allowing players to apply a great variety of colors and tones to the materials of every armor.
4 Apocalyptic forms will be available at the release and each of them have unique skills and ultimates. We will share a few dedicated news later about apocalyptic forms to present each of them to you.
New player skills
16 skills will be added at the release including 4 summoning skills for Necromancer profiles. One section of the Gate of Fates’ 3rd ring will be dedicated to that specialization, granting exceptional bonuses to minions and their summoner. As we approach the release of the game, we will give you more information about all the skills and their modifiers.
Gate of Fates
The third ring of the Gate of Fates contains a total of 216 nodes, including 36 major nodes. 12 new sections are added to the Gate of Fates and each contains 18 nodes.
Skill Mastery System
Players will have the possibility to have several versions of the same skill in their skill bar, one obtainable during the campaign, and more during the endgame. Each version of the skill will have its own progression, allowing players to choose different modifiers for each skill. However, their cooldown will be shared.
We will make more detailed news on crafting in the future, but for the moment, we can already share with you that crafting will imply the use of gems(whose values will be fixed at the release) and various quality of reagents, allowing players to secure and modify affixes on their items.
Of course, we’ve made progress on a lot of other topics, Acts II and III, secondary content, endgame, skills, Gate of Fates 3rd ring, area modifiers and so many other subjects, but these topics are the ones we chose to share today, and we will share more details about our progression in future news as we approach the release of the game, planned in January 2020.
