This is unacceptable. As someone that writes code for things very similar to this game, I am embarrassed for your staff. These things are never hard to work out. Add an immunity hotfix until you can find your discrepancy, and then roll it back to play through as normal.

Putting my name on here. Same deal, been stuck here for days.
Issue: Unable to attack or interact with boss in any meaningful way after breaking a shield.
Resolution: Had to fully log out and back in (restarting the fight).
Issue: Died to this boss immediately
Resolution: Not to toot my horn here but I got the attack patterns down pat and the game often freezes momentarily and I immediately die. It's NOT the leap slam.
