i was in act 1 and my friend was in act 2. i wanted to trade him a weapon so we made a group and by joining his game i joined his progression aswell so now i'm lvl 16 struck in lvl 22 area.

It just happened to me.
I was in the beginning of Chapter 3. I joined my brother so he could transfer me a nice Unique. He had finished the story...
Now it tells me to "Thrive in Stormfall Champion Mode". I was even able to do that. But I don't want to!
I'm lvl 36 and I want to finish the story line!
It just broke the game for me.

The exact same thing happened to me. my friend was in act 1 and I in Stormfall's champion mode, and I passed him a couple of weapons and other items that I had for the level my friend was at. Now he stayed in act 3 without the possibility of returning to act 1

I have a similar issue: I created a game as "public" and someone who had progressed much farther than me joined. Now I missed part of Act 2 and I believe that I cannot get one of the aspects.
