Yesterday I installed Wolcen and created my first online character. EU server was auto selected - Frankfurt I believe. Ping 31ms and the game was pretty smooth. After an hour I had leveled up to lev 8. I exited the game. Today I started the game and saw my character level 8 including all the stuff I collected on the start screen. I clicked the start game and it gave an error: steam authentication error (after a wait). Retried it and it gave error: could not create private game.
So I exited Wolcen and opened a browser. (Internet worked). I checked steam (no problems there) and started Wolcen again. It started without errors and I started the game. It pinged the servers and showed my lev 8 character. Then I pressed the play butten once more and after 20 seconds I heared a lot of noise from my harddrive indicating the game was loading. So far so good. And then the game started with a level 1 character, without skills and without items (but WITH the map waypoints I checked and WITH the proper quest). I quickly pressed the options and selected quit to start screen. There I saw my character gone (and offline modus) so I selected online again. Then pressed the play button, but it had errors: could not create private game.
I thought it was because the game now connected me to UK. So I manually set it to EU-Frankfurt (germany) - the same as last night.
I exited wolcen once more and restarted it. Now i selected offline game and online again (click-click). It showed me also in left down corner: offline modus (no character) - online modus (again my level 8 char). I pressed play and an error showed: could not create private game.
After restarting steam I could repeat both scenarios. After rebooting computer, still could repeat both scenarios.
