Lost Progress in Online Mode after going from Act1 to Act 2

So I killed Eldric and then got my quest completion with the legendary armor piece. I click the quest to launch the event to go to Act 2. My game disconnects I check my character and I've lost 2 levels and have to beat Act1 Boss again... I thought Online mode would save automatically. This is a big issue. Scared to play for a long time only to lose progress.

Yea.. same happened to me, now and in the beta.
Just came from work started the game, the cutscene from Act I to Act II where you talk to the king played although I progressed much further than this point.
So I said fuck it, let's go. Mid questing I get a black screen and see literally nothing but the map and enemy models for like 30 seconds, then I restarted my game and well.. everything is gone. I love the game, but this makes me sick..
