I am unable to hit these citters with an pistol as weapon, as soon as I switch to some melee weapon, I can kill those mosnters.

I encountered that as well. Plenty annoying. I shall not play until the bug is solved since my character is mainly a pistol build. Please resolve this as soon as possible. I did not even encounter that during the Beta.

ya i started with a pistol build too and couldnt hit the bloody things. you think theyd have noticed this and fixed it already...
