I'm in the cave systems before the first boss, and some of the flyers cannot be targetted. My only way of killing them is to run up to them and then use the evasion skill which has an AoE.

Same as above. Some of the bats cannot be targeted by a ranged character. You can take of your bow and use a melee weapon, however.
