First I want to say that I have only experienced this lately after the recent patch and that the issue is very subjective as from what I read online not everyone is affected by it. I believe it started after the recent patch for me at least. I can open the game and log in and see my character and everything but once I hit play (online mode only) it loads the Wolcen symbol and then goes black. Never to return...

Things I have tried for fixes * Resetting my WiFi * Changing steam servers * reinstalling Wolcen * reset game graphic settings (was playing on 2k) * tested gpu drivers / made sure they are up to date

With that being said offline mode works perfectly, no issues so it leads me to believe it is a server issue on the client side. I have read through different forums that say using a VPN to another area will allow online mode to work. I will be looking for any potential fixes and I will make sure to update this as soon as I hear anything solid in terms of fixes.

My issue is that the devs have not made any contact online after the recent patch. I understand indie teams are small but communication with the player base is a must, especially because of it having such a small player base it could lead to a bunch of players refunding / leaving the game.

I will state I think Wolcen is an amazingly well put together game in terms of skills / level design of course it has had issues but so does any game. Not going to hate on them that hard for it because lets face it, making indie games is very difficult. It is beyond beautiful for graphics, even strains my 2080ti @ 2k during some fights depending on what skills I use.
