I load the game, and I click the Create Character button. Game locks up, and as of 1.0.4.0_ER, now it locks up and then exits to desktop shortly afterwards.
I can't even make a character to try this out. Same behavior in both online and offline modes.

Thanks for the link! I tried the VPN option, but I still have the same problem.
I disabled my firewall, re-installed the game, switched to google DNS, Nothing I have tried has let me play the game.

It seems I had a bunch of old files from 2017 somehow. I deleted everything that wasn't from 2020 and then validated files again. Didn't see anything new added/changed, but I can now create a character!
