Connection & environment issues (and a small suggestion maybe)

Hello there,

I've been enjoying this game a lot since I first picked it up, even though some changes like removing the ability to freely move the camera kinda sucked imo (made a lot of suggestions via Customer Support to address the problems you named regarding free camera movement, since the old forums were very broken).

So, I got back into it not too long ago after my previous Beta playthrough and I kinda regret picking Online Mode for my main character...

There hasn't been a single session without at least 6 to 10 disconnects since I finished Story Mode (and even in Story Mode connection wasn't too stable), almost all of them while doing Expeditions. Connectivity to your servers seems to be pretty impaired for some reason, and in an environment where you invest a lot of resources and even rare drops like maps into Expeditions, this is an absolute No Go. You can't have players invest their resources and time into your game and lose it all over and over again due to connectivity issues without any method of refunding the lost resources (or at least saving the progress and let you jump back into the Expedition where you left it after getting thrown off the server).

Second would be the map environment itself. Happens not too often, but just now my character got stuck again on an Expedition map. Same frustration since there seems to be no way to "fix" this aside of restarting the game, losing all progress - yet again.

Guys, if you want to build and maintain a player base, this has to change. From what I've read, you put a lot of effort into balancing the game after launch, which is commendable considering your relatively small team, but if you want more out of this than just creating the game of your dreams (and let it die afterwards), those issues should be addressed soon. Especially since I am not the first reporting this.

With high hopes,
MD

All this problem is caused by server side versus client side latency. Some connection drop may occasionally occur disconnection.

But i don't see this like a problem. I see this like a great opportunity. Why ?

  • To solve this feature they would need to save all the instance and map created when a player left a game with an expedition uncompleted. To make this they would need a lot more server side and data base capacity.

So it's the birth from a new product. They could to offer: - Wolcen Dedicated Online Progress Save after disconnect. Customer which pick to buy this product won't be affect by internet drops because they will be offered with more data base save after drop options, etc.

Neither game offer this feature, it's a great product to release. I definitely would buy it. All games suffer from conectivity issues. See the begin of each season for diablo 3 we almost can't play since latency is high and oftenly we get dc.

What do you think CM's ? Do they could offer us this feature ? It could be monthly or one time paied to help keep this boost up. We have today a lot of products like this one example "no ping" to reduce disconnect chance etc. It would be a very interesting product. With this you could offer a lot of more delaied expeditions from endgame since we are saving progress when get disconnect with this option. Example adventure journey mode where we would take 30min to 1 hour to complete and with this getting pvp items reward per example. It's a good solution.

Not sure if it would be a good idea to separate the community into "Premium" and "Non-Premium" players, the first buying themselves into a safer playing environment (progress wise)...

If there is a problem with funding, there are several ways to solve this problem - a cosmetic shop for example (you could add glowing auras, wings, pets, even more awesome weapon and armor skins etc. to that), DLCs (the story seems pretty unfinished to me), additional chest slots... there are many options to further monetize a game without enforcing a monthly fee on players - especially for such basic services like connection stability.
