Very low FPS and very high CPU usage

Good afternoon.

I just purchased and downloaded this game. I created a new char and put all graphics in lowest (my machine is not the best but still can run many things in medium or low, including diablo 3 in medium-high) but with this game I get very very low FPS. I dropped all to the lowest I could make (even to 800x480) and hardly getting 26 FPS. As I said, I know my machine is not great but it can run quite fine other similar games,
Is this just a known issue that needs to be improoved or is more or less the highest I would be able to accomplish?
Another interesting issue is that this game is one of the very few that fries my machine if I let it run in full energy/cpu. Also is interesting that if I drop the maximum clock allowed, the game does not drop its FPS, it just cnsumes more from the CPU. If I allow more clock speed, I don't get a better gameplay or FPS, I just get lower CPU usage.
Finally I had to exit the game because even just allowing 20% of the full clock CPU speed, the game was increasing the CPU usage to critical levels and raising my machine's heat (I even have an special notebook cooler to reduce heat)

My specs

2GHz Intel Core i7-2630QM Quad-Core
8GB (2x4GB) RAM
SSD samsung EVO
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6570 with 1 GB GDDR5 VRAM
Windows 7 Ultimate

Hi,

you PC is definitly underpowerd for Wolcen.... The game uses the CryEngine which needs a lot of free ressources.
Both, CPU and GPU would need an upgrade.

Minimum:
CPU: Intel Core i5-4570T 2.9 GHz / AMD FX-6100 3.3 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti / AMD Radeon HD 6850

Greetings

Good morning and thanks for the answer.

As I said, even if my note is kind of old it more or less meets the minimum. My CPU is better than the minimum if you compare them

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/Intel-i7-2630QM-vs-Intel-i5-4570T/873vs2041

And my graphic card is just a little bit less than the minimum

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6570 vs AMD Radeon HD 6850

So it should be running at minimum more or less

Also just to compare to see if there was an issue, I also run the game in a lower machine and got better FPS (between 30 and 40 with same settings) so seems there is an issue with some specific specs

This lower machine is

i5-7200U 2,5 GHz
6 Gb RAM
Intel HD Graphics 620

you're giving the answer to yourself ;)

So it should be running at minimum more or less

So it's less on your side and it seems, that there is a bottleneck on your main machine

Devs working on some tweaks and a better performance, but i would not expect much more FPS with this machine on release day

Greetings

Yes totallty I understand that but I'm not even reaching 30 while this other machine I say that doesn't even have a dedicated graphic card its reaching 40fps. That why I was raising this as they may be some specific thing not working fine and this could point devs into something to look at.
Yes I'm not specting to super raise performance but still strange the difference in this 2 machines as my main one has better CPU, RAM and dedicated graphic card with 1 Gb and even better disk (SSD) and still working worst

Hi,

following the OP's question, Will a i5 2500k and a gtx1060 3gb be optimal for playing at medium settings.
I did play Wolcen before when it was an open world and kept getting inconsistent results but i am guessing it was not optimized during that time.

Thanks

Improving performance will be a permanent task for us so you can expect regular updates for that even after the release, but the best is still to make sure that you have the hardware requirements to play the game.
