Infinity Blade Thoughts/ Combo Rune Functionality?
Hey, Ive been using an Infinity Blades Mage build and it was an adventure. Like many players I assumed Infinity Blades was an attack/spell so it would benefit from attack modifiers on gear as well as on the tree, but of course, as others have found out as well, that is not the case. So thats not really a problem, now we know that it only benefits from spell damage modifiers. The skill also, weirdly enough, does not benefit from attack speed or cast speed, meaning any points in agility do not scale the skill. This was a bit more confusing, since nowhere on the skill does it relay that information to the player. At least the keyword "spell" helps validate the reason the skill does not benefit from attack damage/attack modifiers.
Some people have written off this spell, (and spells in general) because their scaling isnt as overtly apparent or immediately noticeable compared to attack skills (nor greatly explained). With bleeding edge we see base damage and a weapon damage modifier, meaning the skill will be stronger with a better weapon. With spells and IB, all of you scaling is coming from added damage, crit, and other modifiers from your gear and tree. Technically, this is how it works in other arps (notably Path of Exile), so I have some faith that spells can be scaled decently well. Im level 56 right now, and have no problems with the skill. 20k total Life w/ FF and 50% dodge 50% crit, with dodging regenerates Life+FF with Rogue armor node, Tenet node, and Statis echo damage node. Using Juggernaut with the IB node that allows you to use warrior skills.
Im enjoying my time with the game, and skill. Ive even just learned that you can use Wrath of Baäpheth (the God of War chain skill) while casting IB, so I might explore that idea in the future. I have found the combo runes "Records Printed in Matter" and "Cosmic Recursion" are not functioning, dont add combos? If anybody has any clarity of the issue, I would appreciate that. It could be bugged/not functioning, or me misunderstanding the rune. I am not entirely sure. However, I want to keep this post relatively positive. I really think this game has alot of potential. I understand that there was a desire from the community to push out the product, and the dev team mightve rushed the launch. The bugs and some lack of polish is apparent. But I hope, that with some support, understanding, and positive feedback, everyone can reach a happy resolution. :)
