Hello,
I just bought this game and thats the skill I want to try out but if its not viable then I want to try something else? Any thoughts and list of all viable skills right now? Thanks

Nothing! Bladestorm maybe. I'm not saying everything else is not viable. I'm saying nothing compares to being near invincible with insane movement speed, not having to auto attack at all, watching everything drop like flies while you just move around and have non-stop rage.

viable?

depends on your definition.

Can you get to endgame with it? Yes.
Can you use it as Rage spender on a Hybrid build? Yup.
Can you clear up to a reasonable level in Expeditions with it? Also yes.

But can you reach max expedition level using it as MAIN damage dealer? Not sure. But one thing is certain: Bleeding Edge would make it a lot easier.

Just because Bleeding Edge is borderline broken doesn't mean other skills are entirely non-viable. You can definitely clear all 3 Chapters and reach quite far in expeditions using WOB.

p.s. Odds are that within weeks they will either nerf the living shit out of Bleeding Edge OR bring other skills up to its level so if you wanna play something different and don't enjoy bleeding edge, I'd say go for it. You can easily clear 100+ expeditions at the very least with a proper build.

p.s.s. If you just want to pick from the current strongest builds Id say go either:

ailment/crit bleeding edge hybrid (Stack ailments with DOT skills such as Anomaly, Winters Grasp with proper runes, etc. - sick mobility with the Blink skill with removed cooldown rune. Bleeding Edge scales off of ailment stacks with proper rune.) This is the build I play currently as Force Shield in 100 expeditions atm still strolling forward super easily.

2h Bleeding Edge crit build variants. plenty of em out there. My friend plays a variant of these in 150+ currently I believe.

I think Autoturret Pistol/Catalyst builds are also quite decent but I haven't tried to be fair. Can use Havoc Orb for clearing.

bleeding edge is just broken.

its an overpowered skill, yep, but then also on top of the base skill just being a little bit too strong its got a completely busted node on it. that increased damage per ailment stack, isnt it giving something like 20% damage per ailment stack? thats the word on the street atm.

So stacking 7 different ailments on mob is something u can do, each with 30 stacks, so thats 210 ailment stacks x 20 = 4,200% damage.

meanwhile all the other skills have a node that gives them 10%, maybe if theyre lucky 75% with some other sort of condition on there.

its fundamentally broken. So its not a case of things being viable or not, bleeding edge is catastrophically bent beyond all reason so no conversation about what is viable/good/strong/bad etc can be had if bleeding edge is taken into consideration. Same with the frost nova skill, thats also broken, its not too strong, it doesnt need nerfed, it needs fixed. its like that block damage node on the tree, they didnt get the balance of it slightly wrong, it was a bug that needed fixed.

so be careful thinking about bleeding edge/ice nova being the 'viable' skills, its like finding a way to dupe items and saying thats the only viable crafting method because its so much easier to dupe a bis item than using the crafting mats to make something similar. if youre using those skills youre using broken bugged mechanics and one has to presume they WILL be fixed, dont get used to them or bank on them buffing other skills to that level, be aware youre trivialising the game via a currently unfixed error.

Guess what I am having a problem with is with the stats is this a min max type of game like if I am going bladestorm do I put some of my points into ferocity and some into toughness to survive or what? Or with bleeding edge since it increasing dps by aliment stacks do I go all wisdom?
