I totally agree. The only time the items will even be potentially useful is just when you reach Champion of Stormfall mode after the campaign, but at that point you don't have enough trophies to purchase anything. When you actually do get enough trophies you have bypassed the need for them by running expeditions with loot drops that outlevels the items from the quartermaster.
