First of all, I bought this game despite the negative reviews and knowing full well many of the bugs, and I've been enjoying it nonetheless. I’m glad to see that the developers are also working hard at fixing a lot of the known issues in game. This is strictly a quality of life suggestion that doesn’t affect gameplay, so it’s understandable that this wouldn’t be a priority fix.

To the point, I did not realize when I first launched the game that it would automatically generate a username for me, and was using a goofy Steam name as a meme at the time, not something I wanted to have permanently associated with my in-game account. On my profile on the forums, it seems to indicate that you’re able to change your Wolcen Tag by linking your Steam account and running the game while on the page, but that hasn’t been successful for me yet.

I’ve dug quite a bit at the forums here and on Steam, and aside from one post where someone had their personal information as their username and the devs manually adjusted it, I haven’t seen a lot of response to questions about changing your friend tag. Since the naming system to allow for multiple users of the same name (i.e. “name . 1234”) in already in place, it would be nice to be able to change your friend code that points to your account.

I’m not a developer, so I don’t know what all that entails, but I would love to see that implemented so people weren’t forced into a name. If this is a bug fix related to server communication or something that hasn’t been implemented at all, it would be great to be able to update your name, especially for people who have a “brand” associated with their usernames online.
