Step 1: Is a mechanic AI causing a boss to end any advancement or completion of a quest or story? If no, 'fix' it anyway. If yes, fix it after 4 to 5 patches. (Act 3 Heimlock). Make sure to only fix it after your player base has mostly left.

Step 2: Is a very important modifier to tens of thousands of people's builds no longer dropping on gear whatsoever? If yes, don't fix it since release despite it being reported repeatedly on forums, discord and steam and causing people not to advance their builds and career (+Elemental damage doesn't show up on armor pieces at all anymore).

Step 3: Is there a major exploit in which people can get infinite gold and Primordial Essence? If no, add one. if yes, leave it in, but delete the gold and essence and items of people who didn't cheat regardless. They MIGHT cheat one day!

Step 4: Is a skill and the builds around it actually allowing people to advance their characters the way the game was intended? If yes, NERF that skill and all builds that use it into the ground to uselessness, and leave all the other skills that need serious attention and fixing just as they are. We don't want players to be powerful! They should be frustrated and endlessly have to respec....which brings us to:

Step 5: Do people have just a few passive points out of place in a couple of nodes or some stat points to tweak and want to respec? Do some of those selected notes literally do nothing at all since release? If yes, force them to totally respec their ENTIRE Gate of Fate and stats just to reapply a couple points, emptying all of their gold and essence because of it. If they beg for you to change it, ignore them for 5 patches. Maybe 10. Hell why do it at all? It would make people happy. We can't have that!! Make sure the entire player base has left before you finally listen and fix it to try and get them back and sell the broken game to new people.

Step 6: Are people trying to make a dual dagger spec build and want to actually do viable damage and survive any champion fight whatsoever? If yes, don't let them. Leave this entire idea and theme of a build totally useless since release. We don't want people enjoying themselves here. If we do this right, NOBODY will play our game anymore.

Step 7: Do people want to join their friend's games? Are their friends already in a rift or on a mission? Well too bad. We want friends to have to totally leave their game so anyone can join them, and when they try and make a new game, make the screen go black and boot them from the server. Remember: Happy players means profit, and we aren't in this for money. It's the root of all evil.
