Re: Online/Offline Characters

Hi team,

I joined the forums to provide some feedback/suggestions around how to accommodate having characters for use online/offline, whilst maintaining a "cheat free" experience for those who don't want to play with modded characters.

Taking a play out of Torchlight's book, why not restrict characters created with or played using mods to offline via some kind of hash registry? Like a unique identifier that contains information about what conditions the character was played under etc and store that information in the cloud, and restrict those characters to offline play only, while allowing characters not created with mods installed to be able to be used online and offline.

I fully appreciate wanting to segregate modded playthroughs from pure playthroughs, but for times like where there's downtime where I want to play one of my characters, not being able to access said character because it is online only is a bit of a let down. The above method would not only allow me to continue that character during maintenance, but also allow you to achieve what you're trying to do.

Edit: Also, thanks for the fantastic game and the effort you've put in. I love it, and so do my friends who I've convinced to buy haha.
