*The* grind.

I dont know about leagues if the endgame stays the same. I mean, you have to grind legendary reagents one by one, this costs to you a lot of time and gold investments, only to 99.9% chance of bricking your item.

Rolling and item should not be that hard. Let me explain.

I ask everybody to have in mind a thought that Wolcen is not an MMO, as PoE is. This is, and will always be, a single-player (or Co-Op) oriented game, as devs said many times. There will never be an auction house for items, a player hub of some sort or anything like this.

To roll a weapon as one of the first things you do while grinding an endgame. You have to sink around 100 reagents to get at least somewhat manageable, for example a 850+ 2h weapon (with 3 sockets). 300 to make something of 1000+ damage. To make a 1200+ is almost impossible and takes probably more than one thousand orbs. And you still get them one by mission.

Okey, let's make an assumption that we're rolling the yellow item. You will have 3-4 orbs per run for a chance of making a base only. Which takes approximately of 200 orbs or something like that. And then upgrading it and bricking it.

If we still will not have any control over what we're rolling - i will not play the leagues because the grind is sometimes worse then the PoE has. As for me, this can be tweaked to a better system, for example, having an ability to save an affix, or always rolling 2 or even all 3 damage numbers on everything that can roll them or at least something. Right now you can call yourself a Grinding Wolcen Games.

Amen brother....

This is indeed painful as hell. There comes a point in Wolcen where you litterally hit a wall head on warpath style. I'm almost level 84 and i've beaten high level expeditions and untainted but not as efficiently as I would like because at this point, it comes down to the quality of the gear you're able to craft/drop.

Problem is, I've hit that wall 4-5 days ago. And since then, my character had just tiny/little/minor improvements at best.

Grinding to gather reagents 1 at a time is becoming so tedious when you know almost absolutely that that roll you will get on that weapon wont probably have any flat damage on it or that ring will only do spell damage when you need attack damage. I'm just about to put the game aside until it is in a better state as far as mats gathering efficiency goes cos more and more, i feel that anger and boredom growing towards the game.

You have no idea how many times i've look at the trading section and seeing greater reagents being sold 0.10c each and thought to myself, man, im gonna buy a 1000 of each and be done with it. But I cant cos it's destroying the game and these were certainly duped. I wont encourage that but then again, by making the game so goddamn grindy, Wolcen Studio themselves are putting a giant neon sign encouraging to do so.

So you want to improve and balance that character? Grind. You want to change your playstyle, try another skillset? Grind. Cos in the end, it's too heavily gear dependent. Problem is, grinding doesnt provide you with the necessary ressources to balance or let alone gear youself totally for another skillset. And there begins the repetitiveness and boredom.

This only leads to hopelessness and the impression to be afflicted by 20 stacks of stasis, stuck in mud and wandering if there's anything interesting on Netflix. Which makes me think that season 2 of Kingdom is out. I'm outta here like Vladimir.

Cheers.

I was thinking it would be awesome if we could more precisely craft gear at the Dark Market (or another building), all requiring the item, gems, orbs, energy, gold, and production:

  • Improve Innate Item Stat (toughness on heavy armor, for instance)
  • Remove Affix From Item (the specific affix determined by gems, not random)
  • Add Affix to Item (the specific affix determined by gems, not random)
  • Improve Affix Roll on Item (incremental improvement: gets longer and more expensive the higher you get, so perfection will take a while, the specific affix determined by gems)
  • Configure Sockets on Item (not random)

That would keep me playing, not only because I could improve my build, but also because I could then craft gear to try out new builds. :)

As it is, I'm feeling bored at level 79, partly because the crafting RNG is too daunting. I have a good set of gear that I can do 187 with, but I feel like I've about hit the realistic upgrade limit, and I don't have any desire to craft gear for a different build (this one was bad enough to craft! :P ).
