It's difficult. I'm playing Occultist Mage with staff I can clear mobs pretty fast at 140+ but with bosses you loose all your buffs gained for killing mobs the DPS goes down 50%.Mages don't have a strong single target spell and spell damage scaling doesn't simply work. If you switch to dagger/pistol and catalyst your dps will magically increase.
