active dodge nonsense

I was reading the latest notes and saw references to active dodge. What the hell is this. active dodge is antithetical to aRPGs.

I believe in this case they're referring to our "Dodge" ability that we all get, and every time we use it we spend stamina. This is different the the passive stat Dodge, which is a chance to avoid attack damage (common in most ARPG's).

Both are in the game.Passive dodge at the moment is somewhat lacking, for the same reason dodge suffers in most ARPG's with high incoming damage, whereas active dodge is a vital skill that all builds use.

In a game like Wolcen, having that dodge is a very necessary part of combat. In all truth, I feel it is still lacking and we need more options for that ability, especially for melee builds, who need to be able to get in and out of melee range very quickly, especially at higher tiers of gameplay, where most boss attacks are one shot kills, on just about any toon except a full fledged tank.

It might be for ARPGS but isn't Wolcen labeled and promoted as a Hack&Slash? Even the Steam page said so. I do think Wolcen is oriented more towards the hacky N slashy than towards being a full ARPG if you ask me.
