I gotta agree with Weycool on this one. I've played a few ARPG's, but this is the first one I've ever dived into seriously. Understanding prefix and suffix wasn't hard, I've played enough games to see an item called the Flaming Ladle of Bad Decisions and go "okay, it does fire damage and causes confusion or frenzy, easy day." But I've got no name change in this case, and all my research into crafting has told me that 1. shit is busted beta style, and 2. sockets+gems+rarity=specific stat. So when I start rolling for certain stats, and I don't get the expected stats, I start getting confused.
I'm on my sixth YouTube video on this subject, and it's the first one where I heard, "so since the max slots are six, you can have three prefixes, and three suffixes." And while it is painfully obvious now, I wasn't familiar enough with the mechanic to make that connection on my own. Or without spending way too much gold and time testing it all.
The post in the official news category about gems and crafting only says "there is a limit to the number of prefixes and suffixes I can have on an item," but doesn't set any amount of either in stone (pun intended). I'm not the smartest cookie, but I doubt I'm the only one who would be upset with some more Barney style explanations that are easily available. P.s.: the crafting post also ends with the comments asking the devs to be more responsive, but we know how that turned out at least.
TL:DR, people new to an ARPG like this gonna have absolutely no idea how any of this works since the information is so convoluted and exhausting to find.
