How to deal shadow damage?

So Im playing a rogue at the moment with one sword and one dagger. My sword is the epic fire dmg sword and my dagger got fire and poison damage on hit. I checked all unique weapons but there is no shadow dagger among them.

Can someone tell me how I will be able to deal shadow damage? Do I need to role this stat on my dagger? Want to combine this with my fire dot build.

Thanks for help already!

Hi there,

You can add shadow damage to your weapon by equipping a sapphire gem in your weapon.

However, if your highest damage dealt, besides physical damage, is something other than shadow damage, you will not inflict any curse ailment stacks.

You can bypass this issue by allocating the Grievous Afflictions passive tree node. Then, if your first or second highest ailment-type damage dealt is Shadow damage, you will be able to inflict Curse ailment stacks.

I noticed that I already skilled grievious affliction haha. However my second highest dmg is poison right now since its a stat on my dagger. I need to replace it with a dagger that doesnt have poison damage, place shadow dmg sapphire gems in it and lets go! Thanks for the help! :)
