What is account wide

I am new to the game, I tried to Google it and couldn't find answer. I wonder what is shared account wide. Are gold, skills, uniques, town unlocks shared from main char to alt? I know I could respec my char and make it optimal later, but would like to have dedicated warrior, assassin, ranger... It would be nice to know how much time should I invest in main if unlocks aren't share-able account wide.

If you play offline mode and save items in the "stash" you are able to use that on other characters you've created!
I dont know about that in online mode but it worked like that on "free access beta" at least for me on offline mode

Items from all chars are in 1 stash...gold is per char.

how do you do to save an char? every time i exit game my played char is lost
