Ailments from weapons are not applying. Immortal offering does not work consistently

Hello!

I've tried to create build based on ailments and two legendary items:
- Empty Denial (has physical and fire damage, deal additional damage to Frozen targets)
- Vanity's Plea (has physical and frost damage, deal additional damage to Burning targets)

While testing, I've noticed that only one type of damages is applied. Either fire or frost from one of weapon.
It is not switching, but applying only one and same all the time. It may change after some mangling with equipped items, but still only one of two.

Detailed stats shows both damages and ailment chances (40+% each)
Skills' tooltips also shows both ailments chances.
I've removed all jewelery and belt, so they are not affecting in any way.

I've thought that maybe two elemental ailments can't go together, but having +fire and +cold damage on rings will proc ailments as expected. So the issue is just with weapon slots.

Also, I've noticed that passive skill Immortal offering does not work very often.
It should give damage bonus after killing enemy for each ailment stack.
When it works, buff icons are appearing. But in lots of cases they do not, even when target is visibly frozen, burning, etc.
Respec of passives fixes it.

So, am I missing something, or is this a bug?

Hi,
Dual wielding will do the average damage of your 2 weapons, not alternate between your 2 weapons. You can see that and which ailment you will apply in the character detail tab, where is showed the basic attack skill. So to make these swords work together you have to use at least 2 different skills with 1 with a conversion modifier (auto attack + bladestorm or smth like this) to apply the 2 ailments or use the cabalist node that allows you to proc 2 different ailment at the same time instead of one.

It is a known bug that immortal offering doesn't work until respec after loging in.

My build is all about ailments, so I use cabalist node. Still only freeze enemies for example. Maybe it is bugged as immortal offering?

This sounds really obscure - what is average damage? Where fire damage from second sword goes in this average?
More on that - what if I'll use yellow/red items with many more base and socketed elements, half of them will be lost for no good?

I just tested this and I don't have any problem, the 2 swords can inflict both freeze and burn ailments with the correct cabalist node.. Immortal offering change nothing and I've never met a problem like this (I'm also playing ailments)...

By average damage i meant that the game takes the average damage of your 2 weapons to calculate your damage. It's like if you got only 1 sword who deals both fire and frost damage in your case, and so that's why I was talking about the fact to have the cabalist node that allows to proc more than 1 type of ailment, as only your biggest damage type can proc an ailment, getting a second weapon won't allows you to proc more ailments. You need to take this node I'm talking about which allows your 2 biggest damage type to proc ailments.

Other damage types won't be lost, if you want to deal all damage types at the same time you can, it's just that only 1-2 of them can proc an ailment.

But like I said in my previous post the best is to check your character detail, on the top you got the details of your basic attack combo, how many damage per hit you are doing, how many are frost/fire damage and what ailment can proc. If it shows you that you can proc burn and freeze but still can't burn enemies then that would be the first time I see a bug like that^^

By the way while I'm at it, the node that allows your dots to benefit from citical hits doesn't work, so do not bother to take it!

Thank you, now I understand how ailments are chosen to proc!

It's a pity to know, that crit node is not working D:
We need more ways to buff ailments damage.
As I try to kill enemies just by DoT damage, guess that my build will suck for now :D

I'll keep testing to verify or disprove issue with burn and freeze.
