Character gets deleted EVERY time I log out

Well, nothing more to add.

Every time I log out, my character gets deleted.

Any idea when Hotfix is coming for this?

Check your saved data location C:\Users\PROFILENAME\Saved Games\wolcen\savegames\characters

Does it exist? Does it have any unrecognized characters in the name that cannot be on a windows file?

and if it does not exist

i have same problem, when log out, me character delet. save game files is empty

Created: 4 years, 3 months ago

Count me in.
I have spent about 5 to 6 hours playing offline today...
And I lost my character level 21, all items and everything.
So what up with that ? I have first free day to play and whole day servers are offline.
Why bother playing when I lost everything ?

This is issue with your PC guys, check your folder privileges, I am playing offline and my character is still there. Make sure the folder has proper rights, check if it is in read only mode. Reinstall the game if needed (check integrity)

Before the patch on the 14th, everything worked fine.
rearranged the game checked for integrity ....
Persians continue to be deleted after restarting the game.
sadness ...

Well, guys, for 2 days I danced with a tambourine in the lotus position and still found a solution to the problem!
In order for the saves to remain and not fly off, you need to create a new Windows account!
Moreover, the account name must be MANDATORY in Latin letters!
Following the example of C: \ Users \ Valeron \ Saved Games.
If you already have a Windows account in Latin letters, try renaming the Saved Games folder (the folder in which the games are saved) to the Saved Games folder.
It helped me personally. I wish you a successful game!

Let's try this then. Now I've given all priviliges to all users on the User folders and also Changed my User name to have only "normal" letters. Gonna make a character now and see if it still there when i come back from work. Hopefully it works.

Thing is, you simply can't set the folder from "read only". Everytime you set it, Windows (atleast mine 10) set it back to Read Only. Only problem is in special letters in your username like "ěščřžýáíé"... not the crap like privileges to your folder.

But thing is... my name and surname, which is my Windows account has all those letters... and I am really not doing new account just to play Wolcen in offline mode. It's stupid just in the basic point that I have to create new Windows account just to play Offline mode I'll never play again once Online is going live. Also, I'm not in disconnecting lan cable just to Windows would not want me make new Microsoft account...

So simply said... I'm not playing Wolcen until developers repair the game and make Online playable again.
I'm not complain, but I'm definetly NOT doing anything I've written above.

It just happen to be stupid to do these things to even play the game I have in my libary since 2018...

EDIT:// Also, people really need to STOP with blaming those who has lost our characters in Offline Mode. It's really AWESOME you have NOT the same problem, but QUITE BIG BUNCH of people here HAS THIS PROBLEM. So, your experience doesn't change ANYTHING but create more HEAT then we need ATM.

Yap, seems to be the lettering cause nothing else helps. And cannot change it either with Windows 10 Home edition, need to be Pro version to change User File names from the lusrmgr :/ shit...

Same problem since this morning.
My last saved game is today at 01:32 files seems to be there but now when i start the game it doesn't display my 3 offline characters
My windows account contains only letter and space

Same problem here, I logged in today and my offline character is missing.

All of my saved game folders are marked Read Only, and instantly reset if I try to turn off read only.

Anyone found a fix for the problem?

Ok, not sure how it happened but I guess the latest update changed something.

I have Steam, and therefore Wolcen, installed on my D:\ drive. The saved game files were in D:\Users\Username\Saved Games\wolcen\savegames\characters.

Wolcen is for some reason now looking in C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\wolcen\savegames\characters. There might be away to point it back to the D:\ drive, but by copying my saved game files from D:\ to C:\ fixed it. My character now shows up again. Hope that helps!

Yea, This worked for me also. Can not believe the Developers have not figured this out and made a HotFix. Really makes me lose any confidence I may of had in this developer and/or company and programmers. Sad!

Thank You Hawkril for figuring it out and sharing, maybe developers could take a cue from your example and do their job we made for.
