Currently my friends appear offline and cannot invite them to the game.
I appear online to them and they can invite me.
Any ETA when full multiplayer functionality will be enabled ?

Currently the only workaround on that is to unfriend and friend again. That way you'll be able to "refresh" your friend's status manually.
Same thing with the disable "Play" button whenever you get invited into a group. To prevent everyone from backing out to lobby, just accept the group invitation and quickly click on "Play" before it pulls you to the group. It will prompt an "Error:0" but you'll join the game right away.
