Black Screen of Death

Last night the game crashed after playing for awhile with some friends and now every time I try to play it get an infinite black screen.
I can launch the game and select my character but when I click to play the game it is just a black screen and I can see my course and move it around.
Help please, I just want to play the game I paid $40 for.

Same here. I also noticed this morning that there was a minor update or some DX stuff came through. Idk why, but figured I'd mention that. Currently unable to play.

Worked fine last night, now only loads with 2 characters in chapter 2, lesser level characters go to black screen of death.

I tried making a new character and its black screen too. My other character is only lvl 34. I doubt this means anything but worth noting.

In the interest of trying to coordinate some common things among us to help tech support root cause:
2080 Ti
x64 Windows Enterprise
Geforce Driver 442.50
1920x1200 (16:10 AR) Monitor

Tried in Fullscreen, Borderless Window+Fullscreen, and Windowed
Tried 1920x1080

Home setup is different from work setup. Will try that later.

It is working in offline mode. It is only online mode that is giving me the Black Screen of Death. Clearly a server issue

Figured it out! It's a US server thing. From main menu, go to Network Settings, then select a different server. I went with "Europe (Lowest Latency)".

Something's going on with the US servers.

Confirmed that US servers a problem. Changed my network settings back to US and the bug reproduced.

Figured it out! It's a US server thing. From main menu, go to Network Settings, then select a different server. I went with "Europe (Lowest Latency)".

Something's going on with the US servers.

Confirmed that US servers a problem. Changed my network settings back to US and the bug reproduced.

Nope. Doesn't work. I am located in the EU, and switching to any other server results in the same issue. With more than 200 hours invested in the game by now, I really really tried to not whine and cry. But I'm slowly but surely starting to get really salty.
At first, lost my inventory several times. The game crashes fairly regularly. Several times, my character got stuck in textures. Missing mobs making it impossible to close an expedition. Bosses facing other direction and then instakilling me without any animation whatsoever. And these are only the biggest ones, I have a few more on my mind, but vented enough already. I really want this game to succeed, but the current state is not even ready for beta...

Yep this worked for me! I really hope they fix the server issues soon tho because this ping on EU servers is a yikes lol

I tried every single thing the devs told us to do in one of their posts (here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/424370/discussions/6/1642042464739225419/ ), none of which worked.

Tried your suggestion and it worked right away! Still, they need to fix this so that I can play with low ping on more local servers. But this will do for now. One thousand thanks, friend.
