CPU temperature problem

Hello,
after playing the game for about 2 hours my PC started beeping signaling high CPU temperature (>= 90°C). I DO NOT have this problem while playing other games. Is there anything i can do on my side to prevent this or do i have to wait for some performance update patch ? Thank you for your time.

The game is a very CPU heavy game and will push temps up that stock coolers may or may not handle well in some cases. I would advise and upgrade to your CPU cooler to remove this problem, especially if you overclock your cpu in any way. I've found with adequate cooling this game runs fine and the cpu will be okay. You may also be due to clean the cpu cooler to maximise air flow for your cooler or may need to consider an open case to improve cool air availability.

I suggest if your looking to upgrade the cooler these options may work, but fitting it is your homework to finish.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 - Cheaper but effective air cooler well known to work!

CORSAIR HYDRO SERIES H80i v2 - All in one Water cooling unit I use on one computer for 3 years no issues.

Hi Gromic,

Is this your suggestion to all of us with laptops that have a CPU problem due to this game?
I have a 1800$ gaming laptop and in max 5 minutes of playing this game the CPU gets past 80 degrees and it shuts down. And from all my 100 games from the Steam account, only Wolcen does this to my laptop.

So, if you do math properly, the issue is not with the hardware but with the game optimization. :)

Can also attest to the fact that my gaming laptop is hitting high temps while playing Wolcen. Additionally, making changes to the graphical settings seems to make no difference whatsoever as to help remedy said issue. Will try uninstalling and reinstalling tomorrow when I have time to see if that makes a difference.

It will most likely not help you.
This is about the game's optimization on how it uses resources in general. It's not about a bad installation on your part :)
Unfortunately this issue might not be solved right away or even not at all.
It's not like the developers will admit to this publicly :)

It's doing the same thing to my desktop. I have liquid cooled gpu/cpu and it's still driving the temps up to 84c on my gpu and then becomes unplayable. I find it hard to believe they didn't know this before release.

They just don't care. They already delayed the game all these years. You think they would have risked the game to be live because of this?\
Most likely they went live hoping that the cpu and gpu temp problem will not hit everyone.
There are at least 10 threads on this issue already from yesterday and I checked all of them. Not at least 1 developer or public relations person came to try and give some feedback...at least show that they read/care about what is written in the forum.

That is a fact BUT... his listed CPU is a desktop Intel CPU not a mobile one in a laptop as seen from Intel's website. Hence the cooler suggestion being made as a viable option in this users specific use case. Since it will help the pc manage the heat better allowing it to support the poor optimization until its fixed. So "having done the math properly" for a likely 7-8 year old pc based on the cpu's 2012 release date... Some new thermal paste and a more efficient cooler is a win/win no matter what.
