Resource system ruined it for me

Hey first off - great work on the game in general, it plays well, looks great etc etc

Unfortunately I found the willpower/rage resource system to be confusing and limited my choice when designing hero builds.

For me, mana/resource should be something that enables build diversity, not inhibits it. This dual system forces me to use certain skills when the resource slider is one way, and then forces me to use others when it changes. I don't know why people think this is a good idea - all I see it doing is limiting my ability to CHOOSE which skills to use at a certain point in time (ultimately limiting build diversity).

Also regarding it being confusing: sometimes I dont have rage or willpower, in which case all I can ever do is auto attack. Thats fine but I don't understand why that is ever the case and how to avoid it.

Hope this is helpful feedback. I would love to play again some time but just found the resource system too painful

There are passives that allow you to go with one resource or the other if you don't like the balancing act. I personally really enjoy it as it has made developing a fluid and effective rotation for my hybrid build pretty interesting.

As far as being completely diminished and having zero of both, idk. That doesn't happen to me. I select a lot of cost reduction upgrades on my skills. Maybe that's why.

Like he said, there's passive nodes that focus on having one resource or the other be your main one, i'd have said nodes much closer to the starting point of the tree though. That being said, i do find builds fairly limited but for another reason, the fact that skills are tied to weapon types and there's not enough uniques/items to help alleviate that issue.

which one would that be? I only see passive which help rage. Building a pure Willpower build seems impossible. But maybe I just did not found the node which does help generating constant willpower.

only way is to focus on regen and reduced costs, it doesn't have a talent cause by default you already regen wp, the rage talent just makes you regen that instead of wp, that's why it exist, but you still have to use some wp skills even in those builds to always stay above 750 rage and take advantage of double damage

Yea I find the "resource specialization" passives only go so far to enable certain builds. Some skills consume so much rage that they might as well be on a cooldown

Speak for yourself. I find the resource system a breath of fresh air and it feels really nice to play with it.

There are so many tools you can use. Passive which changes willpower regen for rage regen. You can swap willpower and rage consuming skills. You can reduce skills cost, you can speed up or slow up transfer rates, you can delay transfer initiation time, you can drink potion, you can do fucking everything you can possibly dream of.
If it ruins it for you thats sad, i kinda like it, finally something different.

If you want to use a shield, you are stuck with a rage only build. Some skills, like BE still, consume so much rage that there isn't a way to maintain 100% rage up time even with getting all the rage nodes. They help for sure, but the fact remains you have to stop every so often after clearing a pack to build your rage back up before moving on.

Everyone else not using a shield or 2 hander can basically go catalyst + some other 1 hander to flip between rage and will power. If you are using a shield or 2 handed weapon of some sort, then you are stuck on waiting for a resource at some point to fill back up.
