Lambach Stage 2

As a tank build with not a load of damage/mobility, this fight is cancer. I'm a casual ARPG player, i usually complete the story once or twice and don't touch the game until more comes out. This stage, is awful, I've experienced being able to melee lambach's body one attempt, and not be able to hit her other than her outer 2 hands the next. I've tried this fight 25+ times, I can reliably get her to around 150k (270K base) and then she just starts dropping bombs in the green 'safety' circle, and more enemies, I've gone through multiple renditions of my build/skills, it's not working. Meanwhile, 2 friends who went for ranger/mage builds had no issues whatsoever fighting her. Just dps the f--k out of her and go along in their story. Was this tested at all? Or did the Devs just assume everyone would to go full dps and just whale on her for 2 minutes and win? I've gone in with 2-handed and sword/shield builds, it's not a fun fight, period. It feels really badly designed and abusive for the sake of being abusive, if I wanted to play Dark Souls I'd go play Dark Souls.

From the standpoint of someone who has a limited amount of time to play games in a day, the game is fun, but this fight makes me not want to play at all. It feels like a waste of time, why would I waste time not getting anywhere after hitting the same wall for 4 hours and making no progress? I've tried adapting my current build to the fight multiple times, it hasn't made a difference. If the way I generally tend to play ARPG's isn't viable in THE BASE STORY of Wolcen why should I play? I understand that endgame content to be hard af, but the first run of the story and casual players are expected to be perfectly statted and built for the lambach fight? NOTHING in the story was remotely this difficult until this point.

To recap, I've watched/read guides on this fight, adapted my build, tried different approaches, it hasn't worked as a tank build. The boss hitboxes seem very inconsistent/buggy, and it's designed to be obscenely oppressive and annoying from the ground up. It's a badly designed fight that blatantly favors DPS/mobility over survivability and toughness, alienating an entire playstyle and casual players who didn't think about/make a character build from the beginning.

Side note: does the game feel like it has an insane amount of input lag even in offline mode? I've got a pretty beefy pc (Ryzen 1700x 3.7ghz, gtx1080, 32gbs ram etc.) and it feels like my character executes inputs waaaaay after i've pressed the key.

Took me several attempts as ranged, If I didn't kill the adds quick enough they would group up around me and i couldn't escape. I literally had to hit ascended kill adds and drop asap so i could save it just for that.

(doesn't help you have to go through the whole chat scene before. Just skip to the fight please)

And yes, there is a delay between actions, I have to stop everything to use some abilities. Putting the auto turret down hurts the most, sometimes it thinks i've held it and so i get stuck in the holding animation firing it in the middle of a large pack.

The boss fights are just far too long imo. I'm not saying you should face roll them they should be challenging.
Issues I have come across mostly revolve around unavoidable damage or skills not working immediately overriding the current skill in use.

The strange thing is if I am channeling a certain skill I can use some immediately yet some I can't unless I press absolutely nothing else. I feel skills should work instantly when pressed and prioritized most recent pressed to override.

There are situations where being one shot is unavoidable and maybe that's the reason for 3 lives? I'd rather have 1 life with better mechanics and fluidity. Multiple aoe spreads and adds blocking plus the colour of the telegraphs with the red atmosphere on Act 2 make it hard to see near the middle where the blood spews.

If all else fails go to the jewel vendor put a socket in every item possible with defensive gems and take double health options. The phased boss fights are a little annoying, feel like a chore overdoing it with phases especially Act 1 boss. Good luck.

I also have difficulty with this boss fight. I'm playing a pure mage, an elementalist with a dedicated force shield, so I may have had unusual difficulty due to the force shield leech bug, and I've noted that on the bugs page. But this boss fight is chaos. I will literally watch my health bar go up and down without knowing why; whether I live or die, I'm not sure how or why. After several rounds, I can manage the first stage well enough; in the second stage, I've even been able to get the boss down to around 20% health. But the minions pile on and on; I literally cannot kill them fast enough, and there is no safe place to stand, or I can't get there because of the minions blocking the way. So you just end up dying because there is nothing else you can do.

There is a reason I'm not a fan of minions in boss fights. A boss should stand or fall on its own strength. If you confine the character to a small space and spam minions faster than they can be killed, you have already created a death trap. Throw in a boss with an absurd amount of health and high damage, with small, unreliable, unreachable safe zones, things get worse. Take away my force shield and I'm done.

My advice, make the boss fights one and one, and make it a test of technique, not raw killing power or sheer health. Challenge is good, but absurdly difficult bosses are not. Boss fights should be proportional with the rest of the game.

Well, finally managed to kill the thing. It helped to use winter's grasp to help with crowd control while I avoid certain death. Also, I think they meant for you to have to use your ultimate form towards the end, so I made sure to fill up my primordial affinity beforehand. I see what they are getting at; it definitely requires you to use all your skills, but I still think boss difficulty is out of a sync with the rest of the game.

Died 4 times during phase 2. Learned in phase one killing the pods on the side walls is the way.

Completed phase 2 as a ranged gun/shield. Hard at first but once you learn the pattern it gets easy. You must kill the adds and you have to have an AOE that does decent damage. I used wailing arrows as my AOE and added in slayer's fury to double up on some good damage as my wailing arrows were going off. This is definitely a stick and move fight.

Just made my first attempt on her. Buggy as shit. Half the time my powers would not active. My Livor Mortis was MIA and unsumonable the whole fight.

I like the world and animations/art/music but it is clear much work is needed on this game.

Couldn't agree more with the first comment. Really takes the fun part out of the game at the moment, when playing a tank brought me to this point without problems so far and now it seems a re-skill is almost inevitable.
So buggy and dis-balanced that it's just no fun.
