My complete Conclusion of this Game

OK, so here are my spontaneous thoughts about the (End)game.
First of all, it was nice to play it, eventhough there are a ton of bugs, still it was enjoyable and a lot of has improved since the early stages of Development.

I wanted to leave a few things here, since I'm kinda done with this game and don't see a point in playing further for the moment.

Good:

  • The gameplay itself. It feels nice to have some hardcore mighty enemies with 4mio hp and more on which you have to fight for more than 5 minutes until they fall. Very cool (also the Über-Boss-Stuff you can craft).

  • The graphics and sounds. Polished. The impact of a Hammer from the Barb is just impressive. Very good Sound Designer, also the Soundtrack itself. The whole Flesh-Area and Monsters are astonishing ;) Nothing more to say.

  • The whole City-Building stuff. Much better than simply spamming "upgrade" on the Blacksmith like in Diablo 3. ;)

Bad:

  • Tons of glitches and bugs that need to be fixed: I experienced an actual game-breaking bug in the Endgame, when the fights get a little more intense and don't last just 5 seconds. When pulling too many enemies, my Barbs Rage-Management simply collapses after a while so that I'm not able anymore to generate Rage by anything but getting hit. No potions work, not doing damage, no Shout, nothing. This extends some fights into endless waiting for Rage and also I eventually die sometimes since no rage = no life leech = dead.

  • A lot of Skills feel too weak and are buggy: Actually the only usable and crucial Skill in Endgame is this red whirlwind Axe (I forgot the name. Bleeding Edge I guess). In the very beginning this is simply too overpowered and in the later game it's crucial for staying alive and dealing enough damage. There's actually literally no need for using another attack (maybe sometimes the flying Hammer, but just for the lightning-damage buff and for extra pulling).

  • The lack of real Endgame: Yes, sure, it is nice to get higher and higher in the let's call them Greater-Rifts (since I can't remember the real name now). But somehow there's no real need for pushing higher and higher, since there are no items or anything else which I can hunt for. I'm lvl 72 now and I'm able to do 103 and higher, since I already got all items I need, so I lost my mood to play further to be honest because I don't know what for.

  • The lack of Items: It's kinda the same point like the lack of endgame. There are just a hand full of Epics around (which don't even scale up in level, so it's totally worthless to try to get a better version) and once you got them, you are basically "done" and you can't even modify them with sockets/rerolling or something else. So I'm running around with lvl 35-40 gear since I'm lvl 40 and I don't even need to get other stuff. In a grinding loot-based ARPG there must be many more items. You created a very solid, good basic "idea of everything" in this game. Now it needs to be filled with everything. More Items, more Activities, more Challenges. You really just scratched the surface so far and there need to be more long-term-things.

I enjoyed this (too short) experience.
It really felt fresh and innovative, but as I said, for now I'm already done with it after ~95 hours. I played more than 3500 hours Diablo 3 and I still go back each Season for a few hours. I really hope you guys will develop the content of the game to this point and don't give it up after a few months.
You're (hopefully) about to create a real Masterpiece of ARPG!

I hope to see you guys in the near future again when there's more on the way. Keep slaying! :)

Edit: Sorry for putting this Thread into here, but the Endgame-Forum is disabled at the moment.

well said, couldnt agree more.

Played well over 3000+ hours as a barb myself on D3 and still keep coming every season to get to around 1500 paragorn.

Nice to know i am not the only one who at certain fights is unable to generate rage, its super frustrating!

Also diablo3 had clan system in place at launch and social chat wiith many different channels, making playing with peeps and trading much easier. I am playing online but unless i invite ppl from my steamlist there is no way to play online :(

Yes. Somehow it kinda "breaks" completely. Maybe too many calculations in the Background? No idea.

Yes, I agree, the whole Social-System in this game also needs to be upgraded a little.

at 1st i thought the no rage generation was some sort of a debuff from enemies, but couldnt find a debuff anywhere,

it happens quite often.

I am also missing a pause button. Since rifts are not on a timer, i donder understand why the game doesnt pause itself when ur in the passive screen or any other character screen. You can still be hit by enemies. This sux, cos sometiems you must open en door or someone calls you and u cant pause the friggin game.
