Feedback on preboss gear drops.

Great game love it so far.
Not too happy that the way to gear up to kill the act 1 end boss is run from chest to chest hoping for a level 20 drop. All the mobs are level 17 so they don't drop anything so just skip them.
I finally gave up after failing 10 times to kill the end boss. I find it boring to chest run just to find level 20 gear.
Not sure what that boss does in the 3rd stage when he is almost dead but after the 10th time I did rage quit and have to give it a few days before I try to get some more chest gear and try again.|
I am not sure if this is due to the fact that I play solo and he is meant to be killed in a group.

Im at the same situation. Killing lvl 17 mobs to get lvl 13 gear. This time around im trying out the ranger spec. but the optimal bow allowing for 2 extra projectiles is a lvl 5 bow and underpowered at this stage in time. gear drops are super frustrating and should be fixed. Combat is satisfying, boss mechanics is awesome. just underpowered at from LV17-20 i feel

We finished the act 1 with lv 5 to lv 13 gear, most of the items are yellow. but most important is if a item is reinforced or superior. and as long you have 1 guy wich is tanky and can spawn health orbs its pretty easy to win. We had 1 mage wich was more cc, 1 ranger that deals damage and dies every time and me, stamina health rresistence realy fast rage, after a few tries didnt die any more

yes the loot is not strong, but you Depends more on skill And skills.
at this point if you do solo, best way is bruiser or heavy armor and have skills (spinning axes, the one that lets you yell and give attackspeed, grab, and the sparta spear jump) to greatly increase your survivabilty.

at the ending of act 1 i had 2 skills level 20, rest above level 15 also myself was level 20 Before the boss

keep in mind after clearing act 1, playing dungeons veteran +2 or higher yields +70 Magic find (chance on better loot) and enemies are +7 levels higher then you. wich is gurantee always level 20 loot if you are level 20 and inventory filled with yellow superior armor and weapons combined with 1 or 2 unique or legendary weapons each run (if you loot all chest).

This will provide some realy good gear at cost of frustration and dying

I play solo so the fact of having a tanky member is a no go for me. Maybe im not a god at the game yet. The reason for farming more mobs for getting better gear for being able to clear the more difficult content. where people thats much better at the game dont have to do. yet you still have to cater for both parties... but farming that better gear is impossible as it drops all low lvl gear pieces. it my opinion and experience in arpg's whether it be diablo/grimdawn/POE

wich class/build do you play?
because the game is still in development and mage is underrated and assassin or ranged are very squishy
edit: lifesteal build is weak
and pierce/penetration doesnt help at bosses also i fully reseted my build once to play fully ranged with 2k damage range crit attackspeed, easy until you face a boss and the screen is to small compare with the range you can have.

I know what you mean, took me a couple tries to kill it solo. Not sure if its not meant to be soloed because all I did was just wait for cooldowns to come back up and attack, wait for cooldowns again and attack. Besides that its just dodging mechanics. The dude in p3 likes 2 shots you (I was melee with around 1.8k HP specked everything in to resist).

Hey everyone,

Just finished the game solo. (They better not force people to mingle with others in order to beat bosses as what I read about the Act 2 coming soon..) I mostly play these Diablo-like (well, this one is a mashup of it and copying path of exile skill tree)..

Anyway, back on topic: 20 hours gameplay. Went to lvl 19, all my 8 skills max to 20. I mostly play mage-classes. Tried Rogue dual-weild daggers (since I got a Unique dagger lvl 5 drop) and.. well.. I'm used to willpower versus rage, so I had to add a melee spear-rage-generating skill to my character. (and yes I like going pure so having to mix.. oh well..)

So yeah, OP, I guess you just need practice.. Have you played other games? I used to play FFXIV and all in all, you just need to understand the mechanics of the bosses. Pierce is a must when he's getting low when he summons minions.. you need to kill them and hit the boss!! For me it was more of a Kiting thingy, not my cup of tea, but hey, took me 3 times (8 if you consider 3 chances before dying, almost died but killed it.)

This game still has bugs, I will try to mention some (like the boss skill that entraps, he teleported me out of the ring..) and not including the lock animation where you dish damage but.. all you see if the monsters staying static.. and then.. and then.. you're dead.. GRRRRR!!!

Don't give up OP; What I despise, I got a freaking Legendary Flametongue (as a magic-user.. duh..) which makes me thing they made it so the drops will work against your class (you might get some, but the % will be even lower than other classes) Look up Wolcen team: I've got pros and cons to list you soon, but this ain't one ;)

See you in the game perhaps!! For those Tanks that might need some glass cannons.. (Hunter + 1 Spell Projectile for the win!!) ^^
