if you want to make it easy, go 1h + shield or 2h wep - use Bleeding edge and spinning - and bang you will climb much easier then most others even after this nerf.
If you use 2h wep get the nodo who makes it possible to block without a shield, get max block + block affil
right now melee weapons been proven to be best and most useful stat wise + dmg

and full Toughtness and you wont have such a problem.

Toughtness is most useful stat ingame right now to actually be able to survive for late :p, but who knows maybe they balance other stats with toughtness later so their usefulness might actually change most stats from toughtness to more splitwise

You can also go for a ranged build with a tanky poison golem, the golem is pretty much unkillable if done right and taunts the mobs away from you 100% of the time, that was my first build and it has no problem with end game content!
