That boss fight is bugged. I'll wait for the fix. Played it 5 times and the boss reaches a point when he'll not do anything nor take damage.

He bugs out when you damage him while he transitions into his ascended form. You can do two things to prevent that and actually finish the fight:

1) Don't damage him in human form while he is staggered (has shield icon above his head) and for some time after that. After being staggered he will go into ascended form (he may do couple of attacks and then go into ascended form), wait for couple more seconds for him to move and you can damage him again. Repeat.

2) Don't damage him AT ALL! Go into top corner of the map, where the purple sphere is, and run around it. When the sphere takes enough damage (and it takes damage not only from you, but also from the boss and even from the arena itself (flame waves)) it will explode and damage everything around it. It deals pretty good amounts of damage to everyone (enough to instantly throw the boss out of his ascended form). So just run around, kill adds, dodge and eventually the boss will kill himself. That was how I beat that fight. In my exp the sphere doesn't deal a lot of damage to the player, but if you feel, that it does, it's not hard to evade that explosion yourself, while the boss gets hit.
